bergamot in it which helps with those annoying, menopausal challenges. The Earl Grey is nearly as dark as my coffee. Both can make for darkened teeth.
However, I’ve learned there’s seriously no need to be scrubbing away at my teeth with inorganic-chemical laced toothpastes, polishes or whitening products. There are other, healthy and incredibly inexpensive alternatives. One of them I got from my Nee (my sister of On Story Street), who gifted me some she’d whipped this past Christmas.
My own supply was getting low and she was trying a new blend to see which consistency and texture she preferred to use herself. Her blend was a light, dry, powder. I used it and it wasn’t bad, but I preferred the paste to the powder, so I mixed it into the remnants of what I’d mixed myself several months prior. Not to worry, it’s never gone bad and each batch really does last for months, usually about three, for me.
Here’s a pic, then I’ll tell you what’s in it.
The ingredients are...
💠Organic Cinnamon Powder
💠Organic Clove Powder
💠Organic Turmeric Powder
💠Young Living Essential Oil of Peppermint
💠Organic Olive Oil
(Organic Coconut Oil can be used as well--both work perfectly)
Now I’m guessing you can figure out why it’s so dark--the cinnamon, clove and turmeric are the darkening agents. Surprisingly, the whitening agent is turmeric. The turmeric not only whitens, it’s also a natural anti-inflammatory, so if you’ve got sensitive gums and teeth, it’s a wonderful organic option to keep oral inflammation and infections at bay. The clove, cinnamon and peppermint are also broad spectrum, natural anti-microbials.
You can adjust the amounts of each to taste and consistency. There’s no exact measurement for any of them.
I give the top layer a light stir with my toothbrush before I load it. It takes only a tiny bit for each brushing and yes, the turmeric also turns the brush bristles dark.
There’s a risk factor in using this stuff in that it has high potential to stain your clothes if you spatter when brushing or spitting. So, just a note of caution for you, but it’s worth the risk ‘cause of the amazing results you’ll see in your teeth.
That’s it for this one!
My thanks to you for hanging out with me a while today and I hope if you give this pennies per batch, awesome-sauce organic toothpaste a try, you’ll drop me a line and lemme know how you like it, after using it just a few days.
Also, as always, my thanks to the tippers whose support of the indie pro bloggers and vloggers community is such a blessing. I wish everyone could be blessed with earning a living in a vocation they sincerely love. Thank you for helping me make it happen.
