He sat in the studio and painted nails for just one Euro, but those who wanted to donate but pass on the nail painting, he challenged to donate 10 euros.
The goal was reached in only two minutes, so they raised the goal to 100K euros. It was met within 40 minutes. Within a bit more than 24 hours, they’d received €1,621,656 and Twitter began blowing up with posts from around the world, including pics of nails being painted with donation announcements in response to Tijn’s challenge.
I got wind of this story from a long-time friend who lives in the Netherlands, which I’m grateful for. It’s always a joy to spread the world on the good things happening in the world, rather than the bad, which there is far more of.
Tijn is a beautiful example of doing what he can with what he’s got. He’s terminally ill with a rare form of brain cancer, and yet, he insists on spending his time and energy to raise awareness and monies for other kids he considers to be in more difficult situations.
Tijn knows he’s sick and is not expected to live another year. He easily made it onto my personal heroes list for nothing more than his stellar attitude. On that note, please remember hi and his loved ones in your prayers.
Due to respect of copyright, I can’t include an image of Tijn in this post, however you can check him out in the short but informative vid below, made while his challenge was presented.
That’s it for this one!
I pray the rest of your Christmas, Hannukah and New Year’s holidays are abundant with blessings.
A special thanks to the flashPress tippers for their generosity during the holiday season, not only with tips but also in prayers. I’m most grateful!
