![]() “Never before had I read a book that completely changed me in just the first 30 pages. God used it in my life to reduce my stress level to almost zero in just two days. I not only highly recommend this book, Deadly Emotions, but it’s a must-read for everyone with a busy life or ministry.” Dr. Gary Smalley For those who are feeling less than best and struggling with poor health, or maybe that applies to someone you care for, this book could easily prove to be good medicine. In Deadly Emotions, Dr. Don Colbert gives an intricate, yet simple, breakdown of the close association to poor health linked to commonly experienced emotions, showing how those emotions are often the culprits fueling illnesses millions suffer from every day. ![]() In this book, Dr. Colbert addresses the physical impact and “toxic effects” of deadly emotions linked to disease and disorders. In fact, to ensure you don’t miss them, he has several of them listed on the cover.
Dr. Colbert explains how his curiosity was peaked when he began investigating the common thread in his patients suffering from these illnesses to emotion. From there he compiled information gleaned from other researchers and coupled it with his own findings, and subsequently produced this awesome book. Lots of it is bad news but he also provides the silver lining. For all the trouble deadly emotions can cause, there's still good news to be had! Experiencing deadly emotions can become habitual. Lots of folks develop a need to feel sad, angry, high-end happy or dismal enough to die. Thankfully, poor habits of a developed desire to be constantly on whatever emotional roller coaster we may have learned to live to ride, we can re-learn a better way of living with feelings. We can diminish the need for them and ultimately dissolve their hold on us, like any bad habit, and replace them with good emotions that produce a healthy physical response and state of being. He doesn't blame emotion for all ills ...Bear in mind, Dr. Colbert doesn’t attribute these diseases and disorders, every single time, to agitated or negative emotional status. An example for you can be one of my own. I’ve endured consistent bouts of migraine since I was 14-years-old. If they began with an emotion, I would have to say happiness was the culprit. When the lights and pain exploded in my head for the very first time, I was having a blast, playing basketball with my little brother. He made a hard chest-pass, that slipped right through my hands, and landed squarely against my chin. Life has never been the same since. In fact, that's why this post published a bit late today ... I spent the weekend with a migraine, and no, I'm not angry with my brother about it. The pain is temporary. Others endure much worse for far longer. So, all that to let you know that Dr. Colbert doesn’t base every ailment or injury on emotions, yet he does propose and supports with research, that negative emotions can be the cause of illnesses and that those illnesses can span generations. Cellular memory and the passing on of genetic memory is one of the many fascinating aspects of this book. And please don’t think he writes it in lofty terms that are difficult to understand. He doesn’t. He keeps the lingo seriously simple from start to finish. Here’s another perk to reading this book. Even if none of it applies to you, and you've never experienced any of the troubles mentioned in the pages, chances are, you know someone who has, or is. More than likely, several someones. ![]() This book is a wonderful investment to be knowledgeable enough to help. Sometimes folks just need someone to listen, and then, while they talk, they’re able to arrive at a solution to the problem within their own heart. But, there are others that are feeling so tired, or so broken, they need a hand to hold or someone to offer them some light in the darkness. This book can help you be that light, or the person who’s able to lend a hand to someone in need. What if the simple sharing of one paragraph, or the breakdown of one chapter could prevent a heart attack, or stroke, or suicide? This is one of those books I wish everyone would read, and it’s just one of several written by Dr. Colbert. Wait, there’s more! You know how some folks, when they start climbing the ladder of recognition suddenly are too busy to acknowledge those who’ve taken the time to acknowledge them? The author has a website (thankfully - since everyone in business needs a website), but he also uses social networking platforms. One of those is facebook, which I’m not a fan of, but use it on a small-sale anyway. If you visit his facebook page, and ask a question, he’ll usually, answer it. He also lets his fans know where he and his wife will be speaking or making a guest appearance. I appreciate that although he’s become a famous author and guest speaker, has a busy medical practice while juggling the demands of husband and teacher, church member, he still sees the importance of taking the time to minister to the people who follow his work, read his books, tune in to see or hear his latest interview. I hope I’ve inspired you to consider purchasing and reading Deadly Emotion and making the wealth of helpful knowledge in it your own. Read frequently--knowledge is power. God bless you, thanks for the read and please don't forget to thank a veteran at your next opportunity! femmeflashpoint
