Like loads of other folks, I work at more than one job. All of them are dependent on having a computer to do part or all of the work. Before I could start working on today’s writing assignment, which happens to be what you’re reading now, I had to first finish an assignment on another job, as webmaster for another pro blogger, Maria Jordan of marcoujor’s musings. Halfway through getting her weekly post for mar’s Desk sorted, my peripheral vision spotted a shadow near my left wrist. I quickly moved my attention from my laptop screen to focus on the shadow which turned out to be a quarter-sized spider of the sort that are known to be aggressive and pack a painful bite, although are non-poisonous. That non-poisonous bit is great but didn’t diminish the fact that it was a SPIDER ON MY DESK, SITTING NEXT TO MY WRIST! EEEEEEKKK!!!!Yup! It got me alllll wigged out!! I scrambled, rolling my chair away from my desk then hurried to find something to shoot it with. Now I realize I need a firearm on my desk. I settled for something to hit it with instead. I missed. Twice. In the flurry of noisy banging, rolling, swatting, slapping and shuffling things out of the way, my laptop took a hard bump and went into shutdown. When I tried to turn it on, it beeped and blipped but powered off again in seconds. I tried two more times. Each time it made it to the blue screen of death before it switched off. My machine's malfunction was nearly as alarming as the spider. This laptop is one of two techno-workhorses I depend on daily to help me earn income. My clients, most of which are pro bloggers, count on it to help them earn income too. Its sudden malfunctioning was a seriously-serious event of the bad kind. And so... After the third attempt being a no-go, I took my hands off of it, stepped back from my desk, closed my eyes and prayed. It went something like this... “Dear Lord, You know how much I need this laptop. I need it for work, for the new classes I’ve enrolled in, to prep for upcoming tests, and to keep in touch with folks I love. I can’t afford to buy another one, and this one has sentimental value. “Please, please fix it and thank you, for helping me...again.” I opened my eyes, stepped back to my desk and pushed the power button. It beeped, began the startup and kept on going. In fact, it made it through the whole process in mere moments. It’s since been responding with speed like a brand new system and all of my programs are functioning normally. I was ecstatic. I’m still ecstatic. ☺ ...do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. (Philippians 4:6-7) Mountains of blessingsThanksgiving (USA) is coming up soon and I have countless things to be thankful for. The list is limitless. The older I get, the more understanding and appreciation I have of so many things God has given me and troubles He's helped me through and to overcome. A fellow Briarhopper, from Franklin, Kentucky, Thomas Obadiah Chisholm described it so beautifully in one of my favorite songs, Great is Thy Faithfulness. If you’d like to learn more about the author and the story behind the song, click here. Below is a vid for you, featuring the song performed by David Ask and Matt Hodges. Hope you’ll give it a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel if you enjoy their work. A few more from my favs listThe last few weeks I’ve subscribed to several new (to me) vlog (video log) channels that I love and wanted to share a few of them with you. It’s my hope you’ll check them out and subscribe as well if you enjoy them, too. The ones listed below are pro-vloggers meaning, vlogging is their business like blogging is mine. By subscribing, you help support and sustain the independent business community. Just click on any of the underlined titles/names and you’ll be taken straight to their channel. Hananya Naftali: Hananya is a soldier and medic in the Israeli Defense Forces. He's Hebrew and also a Christian. His videos are short, informative, usually quite comical and superbly interesting. He covers all sorts of topics in a family-friendly manner. He recently achieved 10K subs (subscribers) and I’m super-whopping happy about it. I'm hoping featuring his channel here will gain him even more. kylene YOLOcks: Kylene is, well, a total hoot! She’s one of my fav, new members of the dreadie-community, a mom, vocalist and musician. Whether or not you’ve got an interest in dreadlocks, she’s STILL so much fun to watch. She doesn’t just vlog about dreads, so please check out her channel. Peaceful Cuisine: Ryoya Takashima is one of the most mesmerizing chefs in the world. His videos can put his fans into a near euphoric state. If you’re feeling stressed, or having trouble sleeping, watch one of his vids and you’ll see what I mean. Now, aside from the sensory effects his videos produce, he features a HUGE variety of plant based dishes that will be appealing to even the most dedicated of carnivores. He does all this without over-the-top fancy equipment and in a kitchen that is as beautiful as it is simplistic. He also makes occasional vids of pottery production and small builds that are as interesting as his cooking. I haven't forgotten the weekly-featured latest editions by some of my fav pro-bloggers in the Weeblyhood. They're below for you. ShoutOutsThe wrap! That's it for this one!
A huge shout-out of thanks to the tippers! You're awesome and much appreciated! For all of you, God bless you, thanks so much for your visits, reading and comments and hope to see you again next week! femmeflashpoint
