Since I was graduated on my 18th birthday, and my 53rd is coming up in late spring, it took me a few moments to confirm who she was. When I did, I was so excited! We exchanged big, sincere smiles and hugs and next thing I knew she was saying, “I’m one of your fans! I read every article you write!” Wow! Talk about making my year! I never suspected a quick trip into town would have me reconnecting with an old friend who also reads my work. She became a new source of inspiration. More recently...A few days ago, and in another town, I took one of my young friends to the Owensville Carnegie Library. While the librarian was helping him return some old books and check out some new ones, she said, “So, where do you find the organic herbs and stuff you use?” I was surprised by the question and looked around to make sure it was me she was talking to. She was, and I explained that much of the herbs I use are grown in my family’s yard, without chemical enhancers or pesticides. The others we get from an organic grocer or sometimes Sam’s Club. I was puzzled as to why she’d asked, and it must have showed. “I read your article.” “Wow! Thanks!” I was sincerely appreciative, but still puzzled. “LaTonna shared it on Facebook.” (LaTonna is my cousin...) “Ohhhh! Awesome!” She smiled, and asked, “Do you know who I am?” At this point, I was shaking my head and there was maybe smoke curling from my dreads, ‘cause I didn’t have a clue who she was. “Nope, I’m sorry. I’m not placing you...” (And, yup, I felt bad about it!) “I’m Angie S.” (Not as in Angelia S. but as in Angela S.) “Ohh, okay! Wait, oh my goodness! Ange! Hi!!!” Suddenly, I made it through the fog and knew exactly who she was. Thankfully, she wasn’t offended and accepted my sincere reasoning that her hair looked different than when I’d last seen her, several years before. I left Southwestern Indiana when I was in my early 20s. I moved back only once, briefly, then was gone again for another decade, so I’m still catching up on recognizing folks who were kids when I left. She understood and was very kind about it. So, yet again, I was given an unexpected surprise that I deem a blessing. Although flashPress doesn’t always generate mucho-content in the comments section, readers really are visiting this site and sometimes they even say hello, and give me a handshake, or a hug. I’ve mentioned two, and there are many others who’ve been very kind to take the time to greet me when our paths cross. You were never a number...All bloggers and vloggers can see the stats that show how many readers visit, and when. It’s info we have to pay attention to and even track. To have readers and viewers step up and go out of their way to speak to us in public forums, especially if they’re not saying something rude, but something encouraging, that makes for golden moments. It a wonderful blend of the personal and professional which is one of my favorite aspects of the indie biz community. Most of us don’t write for crowds. We write for individuals, like you. If you’re one of those who take the time to greet us, let us know you’re out there, we’re sincerely thrilled to have a face, or a voice, or even an email, from you. You are never just a number or a stat to us. You are always someone worth writing for, and editing, and taking photos, or shooting a video, or upgrading our sites' designs to be more appealing for you and easier to navigate. Today’s post is express thanks for your visits to ensure you know how much we, as pro bloggers and vloggers, sincerely appreciate your interaction with our sites. You are the reason our work has value. The Michael Mulcahy (molometer) debutBefore I go, I want to extend a ShoutOut to indie photojournalist, Michael Mulcahy, also known to his fans as molometer. I’ve been after him for ages to come set up shop and hang his shingle in our Weeblyhood, and I hope I’ve nearly convinced him of what awesome company he’ll be in if he relocates his site to our neck of the woods. He’s lately been cavorting around the globe, producing interesting video content in exotic and far-and-away places, as well as his home turf in jolly, old England. He gave flashPress a wonderful ShoutOut recently, when introducing his very first vlog and I wanted to return the thanks. If you’ve been a flashPress reader for long, you’re likely already familiar with him. If not, for now, his site is still residing at molometer.blogspot.com. I’ve also linked one of his most recent vlogs in the ShoutOuts below. Hopefully, it won’t be long until you can get a healthy serving of his literary wit along with his videos, all in one place in the same neighborhood shared by flashPress, marcoujor’s musings, WarnerWords, and several other virtual buskers' sites. Below is his first vlog. ShoutOutsThe wrap! That's it for this one!
Thank you again for your visit and the read and looking forward to having you back again next week! femmeflashpoint

Good story..I enjoy running into old friends...and I often have the same problem trying to identify where and when I met them. Now I can use old age as an excuse...
