It's owned by Mary Allen, one of the nicest folks I've ever met in the indie biz community, who’s also a U.S. Army veteran. (Click here to read more about Mary Allen and the Sixth Street Soapery). The Soapery’s enchanting scents are exceptional and come in a wide variety of scents for both men and women. My personal fav, and current signature scent is Hippie Chic and it's likely to be for as long as Mary keeps producing it. And so, how cool is it that I’m now using an organic deodorant with a scent that doesn't clash with my much-loved Hippie Chic mist? It’s seriously cool and was easy to come by. Here's how.. Stocking stuffers...A gift from my sister this past Christmas has become a favorite essential item I use every day. She put it in a pretty glass jar, ‘cause we rarely use plastic for anything these days. Inside the jar was some lotion with a faint, minty scent. She'd blended organic coconut oil, baking soda and few drops of Young Living's Peppermint essential oil. I’d been using another organic deodorant I liked, but definitely didn’t love. I had to reapply it often and it wasn't nearly as effective as I needed it to be. I also didn't like the texture. No so with Alicia’s mixture. It was excellent. I wanted to build up the scent a bit so I spritzed it with another of the Sixth Street Soapery's oil mists that matches well with Hippie Chic. It's called Patchouli + Sweet Orange and has very similar ingredients. Since the additional scenting worked so well, I decided to make the texture a bit thicker, too. It's very good as is, but coconut oil liquefies when warm. A thicker consistency meant less risk of accidentally getting it on my clothing. I blended a little cocoa butter into the jar and it worked perfectly. Other things could be used as well, but cocoa butter is what I had on hand. Now it has just enough solidity to keep it from running, and still only takes a tiny amount for each application. Easy-peasy perfection![]() So, if you’re not opposed to doing a bit of mixing and want a healthy, organic deodorant that works great and costs pennies, I hope you’ll give this a try. It's the most effective deodorant I've ever used and can be augmented to be unscented or whatever scent you prefer. From personal experience I can say it makes a great gift idea, and no kidding, this stuff would keep you smelling good if you were stuck in a sweat-shop for a week. It's also a great option for folks with sensitive skin. You can see how it turned out in the pic, with it sitting next to my bottle of Patchouli + Sweet Orange oil mist from Sixth Street Soapery. If you’re in the area, you should stop by their shop. If not, no worries. They have online shopping available and they ship to pretty much anywhere. ShoutOutsThe wrap! That’s it for this one!
