You found out about it how? A link on Facebook? Google+? Twitter? You saw a tutorial in a YouTube video? In our house there are two turmeric plants sitting in the butler's pantry. They survived. The ginger didn't. We'll try again with the ginger and hopefully have better results. Historically, my sister's family has purchased ginger already grown, cut and processed into those hot-sugary pieces we use for upset stomach, sliced into cooking food or steeped into tea. Growing it ourselves came about during last season's adventures in gardening. Part of the process was comparing notes with another avid gardener, Vicki Warner of WarnerWords. Thankfully, Vicki's ginger took off and grew properly. She's got a post and video content that covers growing, harvesting and processing ginger, so CLICK HERE if you'd like to check it out and get your own ginger plants started. If Alicia raises enough of the stuff, we'll have the happiest horsey-friends in the whole of the rivers' land. They love gingersnaps. Point is...While we were learning how to grow ginger, we had other viable resources at our fingertips via the blogging world. There are bazillions of things that can be learned on a daily basis from qualified writers and photojournalists who grace the internet, sharing their savvy skills and expertise with viewers all around the globe. Sometimes these folks write (and even include pics) that don't have a thing to do with how to do anything. Sometimes they simply write about fun, or funny stuff that entertains themselves and their readers. Did you know there's a guru of poo who lives in Kentucky? She's a blogger and she's the only one I know who's ever written about that sort of topic and kept it interesting, informative and completely comical. CLICK HERE to get the ginger on scat via Bumpkin in the Burbs. No pun intended and it's a seriously cool article. How about one that covers a taboo subject with from a caregivers angle, that helps kindle a kinder attitude and perspective about a long-standing social pariah? CLICK HERE to learn about Love and Lice: A School Nurse Story via Graceful Intentions. These are only a few places in the bloggers sphere I urge you to get acquainted with. I could produces page after page of mentions with links to a vast variety of pro websites you could visit and learn from or simply kick back and enjoy the content for the fun of it. That'd take years, but you get the point. The sharing of this sort of data from one website to another is what I call bulletin board blogging. It may be a simple reference to a painter's site I discovered or a poet's site Maria Jordan introduces to her readers via her own site, marcoujor's musings. Here's a good example of how this works. For a smoking-awesome-sauce veggie burger on the Sunshine Coast, go to Pebbles the on-site restaurant of the Driftwood Motor Inn, on the waterfront in Sechelt, BC. They have wonderful veggie burgers and while you dine you can watch through the windows for seals, whales, birds and maybe even bears too. (I'm kinda joking about the bears ... mostly.) If veggie-burgers aren't your thing, they have items that are just as tasty for their carnivorian This is good news because...How much did Pebbles spend for the shout out in the previous section? Nothing. Their crew doesn't even know I'm including them in this post. They got sincere and totally free advertising via a blogger they impressed with their excellent fare, superb service and amazing location. From one blog it's shared with readers who are often readers of other blogs or regular guests to certain websites. By the end of the week, this post will have been shared with nearly 50K viewers. Getting the picture? I work in coalition with a small group of writers who are dedicated to including bulletin board areas in at least one of their weekly blog editions. We each have multiple blogs on our websites and at least one of those blogs (on each site) publishes regularly (meaning on the same day) every week. Bloggers are great about sharing information like what I've shared above. Thousands of them do it on a weekly basis sharing info on their own areas as well as areas they travel in. Finish Line!A good bit of the reason behind this post is to let you know there are soon to be some new faces in the blogging community and I hope you'll be as warm and welcoming to them as you've consistently been with flashPress and several other sites closely associated with this one.
I'm confident I can count on you for a warm welcome when the time comes to start making mentions and introductions. That's it for this one! God bless you, thanks for the read and please don't forget to thank a veteran at your next opportunity! femmeflashpoint
