The blend is also known as Four Thieves Vinegar, or Four Thieves Oil. Today, there are loads of uses for this oil blend in both healing and even as a household cleaner. My family uses it for both. Medicinally, we use it ourselves, and we also treat certain ailments my sister’s horse develops from time to time. But, for all the good it can do for a variety of illnesses and house-keeping, this post is focusing on using Thieves for mouth and throat pain. What’s in it?The oils in the Thieves blend I use are... 💗Clove 💗Cinnamon 💗Eucalyptus Radiata 💗Lemon 💗Rosemary I’ve never made the recipe myself, but my sister has and we keep it on hand in our refrigerator. However, the one I use the most often, for convenience sake, is from Young Living. My reason for this is, it comes in a small, easy to carry bottle, and it’s comprised of an essential oils blend, rather than a basic oils blend. That last bit means it’s super strong, and takes only one drop per treatment, that will last for hours. The oils blend, whether made up of essential oils, or basic oils mixed into a carrier oil (such as olive or coconut oil) or a tincture (which is alcohol based, such as a good quality vodka, whiskey or bourbon), provide a broad-spectrum antimicrobial. If you suffer from allergy symptoms, you’ll have acute understanding of why this is awesome news. Since deploying Thieves blend to attack throat and mouth pain and/or infection, I’m no longer reliant on the prescribed cocktail I used to have to take, which consisted of a round of antibiotics and doses of viscous lidocaine, drizzled into the back of my throat. An added plus is that it tastes great, if you like clove and cinnamon and can be incorporated into your toothbrushing regimen for added oral health protection. Caution with children, pets and residueThieves oil blend is easy to use, and most of the time, I simply put a single drop on the pad of my thumb, then rub it across the roof of my mouth. Then I refrain from drinking or eating for at least fifteen minutes. It’s important to remember that this is a “hot” oil blend and shouldn’t be given in raw state to children or pets. It’s also necessary to wash away the residue with soapy water afterwards. The residue isn’t dangerous but can cause acute burning sensation on sensitive skin. Holding an eclipseDuring Eclipse 8.2017, my sister Alicia (Nee of On Story Street) and I, were fooling around with our cell-cams during the eclipse. We live very close to Eclipse Grand Central and so had a great “view” of the event here in Southern Indiana. Although we were outside for the totality, indoors we got some some cool shots of little eclipses (partials) on the floor of her studio. It was a weird and fun event for us. Alicia said she felt like she was in Narnia. ShoutOutsThe wrap! That’s it for this one!
God bless you! Thanks for the tips and the read and hope to see you again next week!
