With the initial procedure, I’d hoped having just the left ear pierced would be sufficient to knock migraines out for good. It did lessen the intensity for a while, but failed to stop them. In a few weeks, they returned, as painful as before, but usually not lasting as long. I knew this was a possibility and decided to go through with the second piercing on my right ear a few months later. A period of 12 weeks is the average amount of time it takes for the daith piercing to heal, allowing you to sleep on the first ear pierced, while the second ear is healing. The second piercing produced good results but the migraines continued. Don't fret... There's a bright side to all this. Only a few of the migraines lasted more than a week. Only a couple required the big doses of migraine cocktail (800mg of Ibuprofen coupled with an antihistamine or sedative) every four hours. The last three months have been the best yet. I’ve had migraines, but they’ve lasted only a couple days, and I’ve only needed small doses of meds, if any at all. Most have been alleviated with 30 minutes (or less) of reflexology therapy, coupled with topical essential oil blends. The fix...
It's the first migraine I’ve had in nearly a month. Like the last one, it presented within a couple days of a full moon--another common aspect for many with migraines. The full moon is due to be in full swing in just two days, March 1st. Better and betterAnd so, the daith piercings seem to be helping a great deal. I’m not migraine free, but I’m having fewer of them and they continue to become more manageable with lower med doses. The reflexology therapy has been amazingly helpful and not surprisingly, as daith piercings are a form of constant reflexology therapy. The addition of the sessions from my sister have been essential in lessening pain and duration and probably work in cohesion with the daith piercings, enhancing their effects. If you suffer from migraines......and you’re wanting an alternative medicine, or help with migraine pain, I’d suggest reflexology, coupled with essential oil therapy first. If that works, it may well end the migraine storms. I’d only suggest daith piercings if the aforementioned isn’t enough to rid you of them. I’m still giving the procedure a thumbs up and hoping the frequency, intensity and duration will continue to shrink over time. I’ll keep you posted.
