After searching high and low, and trying out more than I can remember, about a year ago I came across a task management app that caught my interest for it’s design. I checked further and found several users had taken the time to write up some very positive reviews on it, too.
I downloaded the free version from the Google Play store and installed it on my tablets and mobile phone.
It took less than a week to for me to love it enough to upgrade to the pro version. The pro version is nearly identical to the free version and I honestly bought it to support the business (Team Tasks) that put the effort into producing it.
Buying it was (and still is) is a one time fee. From my most recent research, the app is available for 99¢ on Google Play. I think I purchased it a year ago for about $4.99 USD. It’s been worth every penny!
There are several task organizers available, that get excellent reviews. I've used most of them. The thing I disliked about all of them was they couldn’t be purchased with a one time fee, but rather users have to pay a monthly fee. I’m just not into the monthly fee thing. If I can’t buy an app outright, I hunt for another with similar features that I can purchase with a one-time fee instead.
That’s exactly why I migrated from Evernote to Google Keep, which I’ve never regretted, even a little bit! I didn’t have a one-time fee to use Google Keep because it’s totally free and I use it constantly.
Google has a Google Tasks app/extension that’s a standard, built-in feature of both Google Mail and Google Calendar. The app auto-syncs and can be saved to Google Chrome as an extension. From Chrome, I was able to add a shortcut for it, it to my Windows desktop, and I can even use it offline.
The thing I was lacking was access to Google Tasks when I wasn’t working from my laptop, since it isn’t built in, or available as an app for Android mobile devices. Although I could get event reminders on my mobile devices, I couldn’t see the tasks lists to add new tasks, or delete/edit completed ones.
Tasks was the perfect answer. It does all that.

Like most Android users, one of the aspects I love about Android is the ability to keep our screens tidy, and use folders to group our apps together into folders.
Since I work via my phone or Android tablet daily, I have the same setup on both devices and, in event you're curious, I use Nova Launcher Pro for enhanced graphic options and performance. The icon pack I'm using is Retro, and I've been using it for about two years now.
This screenshot is of my Home screen (sorry you can't see the beautiful rain drops actually splashing onto the sidewalk via the oh-so-cool live-wallpaper I found!), and I keep all of my mobile work tools inside a "Work" folder that's situated in the lower left of my screen, where I can find it quickly, every time I need it.
The folder is circled in green for you.
The little icon, left-side, second row is the Tasks app.
Once open, the app's user area looks like this. It's a sleek design, and can be either dark or light in theme, with several graphics options available to change the look to suit you.
I left a few of the tasks visible for you, so you can see what ones look like that are still in progress.
By the way, I'm not in personal need of the Lighthouse Recovery Facility, but through others who've had dealings with it, it's a wonderful resource in southern Indiana and I plan to be visiting it soon, and featuring it in an upcoming post here on the Pumpkin Run Pulse.
The app comes equipped with a variety of useful bells and whistles, such as scheduling, additional notes, sharing and more, and also syncs with your Tasks app in GCalendar, Gmail and Chrome.
Your inclusive task managers in Google Mail and Google Calendar
Google Task Manager in Google Mail can be accessed via the tab, toward the top left of your GMail screen. Click it (see the little green arrow, top left?) and a pop-menu will appear. From there, look to the bottom of it and click on "Tasks". This will open the tasks popup, in the bottom right of your screen. From there, you can pop it out of the Gmail page, shrink it, or close it completely.
Google Task Manager in Google Calendar can be set up to show all the time via your GCalendar settings.
Yup ... Tasks is awesome-sauce.
If you're not already using it, save yourself some grey hair and download it.
Use the free version if it suits you and if you want to beef it up a tiny bit, buy it from your mobile's app store. It's worth it and you'll be supporting yet another small business.
I have no ads showing up in the pro version and I'm pretty sure that's the only difference between it and the free version.
During my brother and nephew's recent visit, I was able to get a short video of some fun on our friends' farm. I was so happy for Justin to get to spend some time there. He enjoyed himself so much, he said to my brother, "Daddy? Can we come here every day?"
My brother's family lives in the mountains in Brazil, where they pastor two churches as well as serving as instructors in the bible college they helped establish in their area. My little brother is a smart man and he could have chosen any career, but he has gone where God directed him and has no regrets.
I love that his family does what they do, but wish Brazil weren't quite so far away. Getting to spend time with them is counted a huge blessing and I'm thankful for every opportunity I have to be with them.
