In the knowThe gallery came about via the collaboration of North Posey High School student artists working with area adult artists. The result of their effort is displayed in the foyer of Poseyville’s popular family dining establishment, The Red Wagon, who provides the space for the gallery as well as hosting its quarterly showings. For each event, artists bring their work to the gallery. There, the volunteer organizers place them into the display. They require the artisans be at least five-years-old and that their pieces are wired for hanging. Thus far, the work 182 artists have been represented in these events since the first showing, December 10th, back in 2010. December 2017’s showing will be Thursday, December 7th from 6p until 7:30p in the Red Lantern Gallery area of the Red Wagon restaurant, just off I-64 at Exit 12 and State Road 165 at Poseyville, IN. Restaurant phone number is 812.874.2221. Here are a few shots I took of this quarter’s showing being put together by the gallery’s awesome-sauce volunteers, some of whom are also among the participating artisans. InclusionsThe event will feature a buffet with drinks, delicious hors d'oeuvres and desserts for $7 per person. Guests can visit with each other while they browse the gallery and get acquainted with area artisans attending and participating in the showing. The venue provides a fun atmosphere for folks to gather and socialize while celebrating local talent, learning a bit about art and local history via visual displays and conversation. Hats off to the Red Lantern Gallery volunteers, the participating artisans and the Red Wagon restaurant owners and staff for their generous time and work in hosting the showing. Their efforts are valuable and appreciated. My sister’s work is on display for this event and we’re both planning to attend. If you’re attending too, hope to see you there. ShoutOutsThe wrap! Thanks for your visit and thanks for your support of the indie biz community and its artisans. Your interest and participation in the community is what keeps us growing and thriving.
Praying you enjoy a safe and beautiful week, Angelia
