Before you feel reasonably, or maybe even remarkably, confident in the security of your online electronic data, please consider my pretty please with sugar on it request for you to get and read Hacked Again by Scott N. Schober. This isn’t a plea from me for you only, it’s for you, your spouse, your babysitter, your doctor, the baristas at your fav coffee shoppe, your dog-walker, your whomever can read and use electronics person. Hold up! Please don’t file-36 my suggestion yet, thinking you’re not even close to being interested in buying a book filled with techno-mumbo-jumbo. I promise, it isn’t like that at all. Hacked Again is a story-form compilation of some the most essential information you need to already know and are using a SmartPhone, credit/debit card, store-significant shopping card (Target ring a bell?), email, iCloud, online banking and bill pay. The list goes on and on... Not long ago my friend M.J. requested help from me in calling her bank. She’d gotten her monthly statement and realized she’d been charged for pizza from Dominoes amounting to more than $20, on two separate occasions. This was a problem because... 💢She’s never (literally in her whole life) eaten at Domino’s Pizza. 💢She’s never placed a delivery order with them in person, or over the phone. 💢The pizzas were ordered and delivered to an address in a city she’s never been in, located within a state she’s never been in. Thankfully, when I made the call to her bank, explained who I was and put my friend on the phone, her bank associate was apologetic for the incident, very kind and helpful. She assisted M.J. in getting the charges reversed, locking the thefted card and info from further use and issuing a new card to her account immediately with a different security code. My friend is a disabled senior citizen. She has never engaged in online banking. She nearly always pays with cash or check. On one occasion, she used her card in a shop that wasn’t secure enough to prevent her data from being stolen and sure enough, it happened. She exists on a very small, fixed income. If the bank hadn’t been able to reverse the charges, she’d have been within a hair of overdraft and the subsequent fees it incurred. Hacked Again is a book even my friend, with her limited techno-savvy, could have made use of. So could the shop she used her card in. The book provides hard core information, but it’s presented in a superbly understandable fashion and it’s even interesting! Scott Schober stitched it together with an intriguing blend of essential information presented with real life, highly memorable stories. You’ll be familiar with lots of them because they spent weeks making international news. There are many more, but you get the idea... From individuals with small bank accounts, to both large and small indie owned businesses, or huge-whopping conglomerate corporations, this book is a must have. You can either buy the book, or hire Scott Schober’s business for your cyber-security needs. If you use a smart phone, a bank or credit card, are a small indie biz owner with a small budget, or someone who doesn’t work at all, but still uses money and has a bank account (I'm betting you're at least one, or more, of those) I recommend going for the book. It’s much less expensive than hiring Berkeley Varitronics Systems, the company for which Scott Schober serves as the CEO. If Scott’s name isn’t ringing a bell for you, you might recognize his face, since he’s been a fav go-to expert on cyber security for several years. You’ve possibly seen him on Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, Good Morning America, Inside Edition, The Blaze, The Wall Street Journal and many others. He’s also a prime go-to expert on cyber-security advice for the U.S. government and others around the globe. Scott consistently offers helpful information and free tips lists on his website at scottschober.com. His business, Berkeley Varitronics Systems has a variety of services information available on their website at www.bvsystems.com. Hacked Again includes a prestigious foreword by investigative reporter, Jon Leiberman, a familiar voice (literally) to millions of listeners. His work is associated with The Howard Stern Show, America's Most Wanted, CNN, Fox News and others, as well as host of Sirius XM Radio’s, Lieberman Live. Identity crisis
Wow! How amazing is it that I got a call back from the manager in less than 15 minutes? His information was even more amazing. He said he went to get the employee and discovered he'd bailed, was no longer on the property and the manager had no way of getting in touch with him. I'm confident the manager was well aware of his employees using questionable Social Security numbers. Unfortunately, it's a common practice in many states. The employers can hire folks who'll produce stolen identity documentation and pay them very low wages allowing them to pocket a much higher profit. That's one of two times my social security number has been used illegally, and unknown to me until I was notified by the Social Security Administration and was thankfully able to get it sorted. I learned so much from this book, and all of it is not only useful but very needed, and so I hope I've been convincing in that it really is an incredibly worthwhile investment to buy, read, and consider gifting to your kith and kin. Good information. I like to ask, "How do I know you and where did we meet?" I usually don't get another message...
