I learned he’s a veteran, U.S. Army. He and his wife, Debra, have two daughters and five “grands” that he obviously adores. He’s a former musician for the McGruders, a long-time, popular southern gospel group. Vocalist, Carroll McGruder was inducted into the Southern Gospel Hall of Fame in 2016. On his own, Larry’s found success as a solo artist and speaker for 25 years. He’s adept at bass, rhythm and lead guitar, flawlessly blending aspects of the three into one instrument as he plays. Past his excellence with guitars, he also plays percussion, keyboard and sax. He’s not limited to playing only other artists’ music, which often include favorite requests from his fans. He writes as well, and has composed more than 100 songs. He also maintains a recording studio in his home where much of his work is produced. I was especially impressed with how he took familiar Gospel pieces and rearranged them into renditions with a twist of jazz, or rhythm and blues. I patched together some samples of video I gathered from the morning concert. Please pardon the rough production from a viewer’s aspect, but don’t fret. From a listener’s aspect, it’s awesome-sauce. Larry hails from Missouri. He’s an independent artist and licensed minister. If you’d like to get better acquainted with him, you can visit his website at LarryCarter.com. He’s got some cool stuff there, so hope you’ll check it out. In researching his albums and singles, I was thrilled to find both albums and individual tracks available on iTunes, as well as Amazon. Amazon links to one of his albums and a few of his instrumental singles are below for you. I didn’t see a Christmas album on Amazon, though. If you happen to know of one there, please pass the info along in the comments or via email, and I'll add it to the list below. Meanwhile, any of his pieces are worth investing in to add to, or begin, your own collection, or consider gifting to friends and family. Both his album and singles are priced to be easily affordable by most everyone. Just click a link below to check out the piece on Amazon. My thanks to Rev. Carter for sitting the interview with me. I’m already looking forward to his next concert here, and plan to put the word out ahead of time to kith and kin. When he plays at Apostolic Bible Church, here in our village, there’s no cover fee. Can’t beat that! ShoutOutsThe wrap!I pray you're blessed with a safe and happy holiday!
God bless you, thanks for the read and hope to have you back again next week. Angelia
