In the past this was a rare glitch with the Weebly site editor. Now, it happens every time there's a Microsoft update, or when the wind is blowing in a wonky direction. Weebly help desk puts me through the same set of questions each time it occurs. Have you cleared your cache? Do you have any antivirus programs prohibiting Weebly from running? Have you checked your computer settings? Have you tried from another device? There's more, but they all point to the user, not to Weebly and it's not like I haven't answered the same questions, and provided the same answers over and over again. You'd think they'd have them listed somewhere, especially when they're aware of this being an ongoing and escalating issue the Weebly site owners are experiencing. Other journalists reporting the same troubleOver the last few years, I've increased my research on this problem and discovered many other Weebly users continue to report the same, periodic challenges. This article, via WebNots puts it all in a tidy post, explaining the problem and that there's little hope of correcting it. 5 Weebly Site Editor Issues That Will Annoy You I've experienced about everything listed in the article and if you've been a Weebly user for any length of time, especially if you're a blogger, you'll probably recognize at least a few of them. For the first time ever, I'm publically saying I'd not recommend Weebly for writers until the issues in the article are addressed, not blamed on the users, and whatever work is needed to be done to ensure sites run correctly is implemented. Beneficial updates and upgrades? In my time with Weebly, my colleagues (who've been using it nearly as long as I) have seen numerous changes. All came about as upgrades, the "new and improved" way of doing things. In the "new and improved" we lost some wonderful and much loved elements that attracted us to Weebly in the beginning. Now, it's more restrictive than ever and there are many things about the old versions of Weebly that I'm still missing after all this time. Fair warning...If I stay with Weebly you'll know. If I don't, you'll know that too.
Either way, my apologies for no post yesterday. By the time I finished web-wrangling, I was "plum wore out!" I also apologize for no ShoutOuts section this edition, but by the grace of God and good coffee, flashPress will be back on track for next Tuesday's edition and hoping to see you then. Shalom
