Ever had to be the one to make a call to a funeral home and set up services for your loved one? I’ve been on both ends of that sort of call. To be the recipient, having the privilege of helping the caller is one I’ve been thankful to be a part of many times. They were opportunities to help others in a way that lots of folks can’t. In return, I was blessed to have close friends assist me in the care of my own loved ones when they passed. It made the situation much easier knowing I had the help of someone who personally and sincerely cared about my loss.
There's a variety of sales-oriented psycho-babble that can be employed to convince a caller to make an appointment with a funeral service facility and make arrangements for a loved one that’s died. That was one of my primary responsibilities in funeral service. I had a high success rate in getting families to agree to set appointments and show up for them. But, it wasn’t a brilliant sales pitch that convinced them to come in. I’m convinced they picked up on the compassion I felt for them and my desire to help. It was real to me and I believe what I felt for them conveyed through our phone conversations, and later in person, in most cases.
It wasn’t just the services of a faceless crew and facility I was offering, but the personal and professional care and involvement of my colleagues, several of which were close friends. I had confidence in them to be just as caring of the families we served as I was.
During my years at the last large funeral service facility I was associated with, I worked with several funeral service interns. Of them, one became a friend so close I consider her as family. To my delight, I got a call from her several months ago. She made me oh-so-proud when she let me know she’d partnered with a colleague and friend and was in process of opening an independently owned funeral service facility in the Fort Worth-Dallas metroplex.
Her name is Angela Torres and her business is Lasting Impressions Funeral Home of North Richland Hills, Texas.
I have all the right reasons for being excited about Angela and Lasting Impressions. She’s got all the got all the goods needed in providing families with exceptional services in the care of deceased loved ones. But, beyond the professional know-how, are some qualities that rank her as a cut above many others in the same industry.
If you’ve never had to engage in being the one to make the call and the decisions necessary for a loved one’s arrangements when they’ve passed or are about to, this may not be information of current interest to you. However, sooner or later most of us do have to deal exactly that. The larger your circle of family and friends, the more often you’ll have to deal with it. During those times, my hope is that you have someone like Angela to turn to for help in getting through those situations.
For this reason, even if you don’t live in the Fort Worth-Dallas metroplex, I encourage you to get acquainted with Lasting Impressions. You can do so via their website located at lastingimpressionsfunerals.com.
I don’t live in the area any longer, however I work remotely with businesses there, have many friends and a growing number of family there. I’ve made it a point to those I’m in touch with to contact Lasting Impressions for their funeral service needs, be they present, or pre-need arrangements for the future.
Getting familiar with a funeral service establishment ahead of time means that you’ll have a friend to go to for the care of a loved one that’s passed, rather than a stranger. It makes a big difference and I’m certain Angela Torres and the staff at Lasting Impressions will be just the sort of friends you need to help you through what might possibly be some of the most difficult days of your life.
That's it for this one!

flashPress is a totally free site, but, if you like it and would like to leave a tip, I'll surely put it to good use on things like food, clothes, fuel for my auto, soap to shower with, etc. I think those qualify for seriously good use. ☺
